Today we played around with kennings and Anglo-Saxon riddles.  Then, continued discussing/explicating "The Seafarer."

Period 3
English 12CP

Had test today on Anglo-Saxon literature.  Then, we read the first part of Beowulf -- "The Wrath of Grendel" -- in your literature anthologies.

Period 4
English 12CP

Discussed the definition of epic poetry with a lively conversation on what defines a hero.  Students took a look at the Old English text of Beowulf.  For homework, read the Prologue.
