WORD OF THE DAY:  coherent (adj) holding or sticking together; making a logical whole

Period 1
English 12AP

Introductory notes on Anglo-Saxon literature with very basic historical events leading up to the Anglo-Saxon invasion around 446 CE and on to Harold II's defeat at the Battle of Hastings by William the Conqueror.

Tomorrow, we will be peer editing rough drafts of college essays.

Revisions of one of your summer reading essays will be due on Thursday, 9-20-12.  (On Wednesday, the 19th, there will be an assembly for seniors during Period 1.)

Period 3

After a surprise quiz on the poem "The Seafarer", I gave each student a question about the elegy, and we worked on answering the questions and in the process, analyzing the text.  We will finish up the next time we meet.
