Grade 10
Today, students had a test on Julius Caesar.  The vocabulary quiz for tomorrow has been moved to Tuesday, 3-6-12.

Periods 7 & 3
Grade 12
Word of the Day:  supplementary
Today, students began making their character presentations.  Thoroughly enjoyable!
DATES TO REMEMBER:  3-2>final drafts of research papers/3-5>word quiz (be familiar with all words from ubiquitous to supplementary)/3-7>outside reading "Shortcuts" projects due

Period 4
Grade 10
Collected homework (2 sentences for each new vocabulary word).  Gave students 10 new words.  Homework:  write a paragraph using at least 15 of the 20 new words.  We reviewed for the Julius Caesar test tomorrow.  Must know characters, plot summary, and important quotations from Act I.
DATES TO REMEMBER:  3-5-12 -- Outside Reading Projects due (oral presentations/worth 2 test grades!)

Grade 10
Read another chapter from Can't Get There From Here.  Reviewed vocabulary words for quiz on Thursday, 2-16-12.  Reviewed what we have read so far in Julius Caesar and then read the next scene.

Period 3
Grade 12
WORD OF THE DAY:  insolvent
Words so far in this cycle include:  edify/ebullient/dessicate/debilitate/inchoate/insolvent
Re-took a vocabulary quiz to improve grades.  Film screening of Act III of Hamlet.

(No period 7 on A-days.)

Period 4
Grade 10
Read from Many Stones.  Students worked independently on their reading journals for Act I scenes 2 and 3 of Julius Caesar.  Must complete entries for homework.  Do not forget to continue reading your outside reading books.  Projects are due Monday, 3-5-12.

Period 6
Grade 10
Read from Many Stones.  Summarized action of Act I scenes 1 & 2, then read scene 3 aloud.
