Just a thought to consider:  "We could never have guessed we were already blessed where we are..."  -James Taylor

Period 1
Grade 10

Read to page 160 in Unwind.  I distributed this blog address to the students so you can access any missed work when you are not in class.  We had a pop quiz today on a quotation from Unwind.  Then, we began filling in the next big part of our outline of the book Night.  So far, your outline should look like this:  II.  Rising Action  A.  "Race toward death"  1.  Humiliation a.  not permitted to leave their houses  b.  not permitted to have valuables  c.  must wear yellow star  2.  Segregation  a.  two ghettos  b. barbed wire  c.  "ruled by delusion"  3.  Deportation

Homework:  Continue reading your outside reading books and taking notes.  Test on your books will be Monday, December 5 (less than 2 weeks!!)

Periods 4 and 6
Grade 10

Read to page 207 in Unwind (to page 216 in period 6).  Discussed ways of reviewing the 100 new vocabulary words you have learned so far.  Crosswords?  Group stories?  Pictionary?  We'll see...
In period 4, read to page 82 in Night.  Also, collected homework (movie responses).

Periods 3 and 7
Grade 12
Word of the day:  evince (v) to show or demonstrate clearly

Distributed copies of this blog address so you guys can remain as current as possible.  Also, distributed the research paper contracts -- YIKES!  Please read and have your parents read all 3 pages, sign the bottom portion of page 2, and return to me by Tuesday, 11-29-11.  This is the first step in your research paper project and counts as a test grade.  Remember:  absence does not excuse you from handing in a research paper step on time.

Finally, today was the in-class essay writing on one of The Canterbury Tales.

If I don't see you tomorrow, enjoy the PEP Rally and have a great Thanksgiving!  Perhaps I'll see some of you at the game on Thursday.
