A question to consider: "How are you tending to the emerging story of your life?" (C. Hegedus & F. Vaughan)
Periods 4 and 6
Grade 10
Read to page 202 in Unwind. Discussed observations and questions about the film Last Days. With period 4, I reviewed the series of events from section 4 of Night. We also read to page 69 (to page 72 with the period 6 class).
Homework: Write a 1-2 paragraph response to the film in which you discuss the similarities between the experiences of the film's survivors and those of Elie Wiesel.
Period 7 (no period 3 on D-days)
Word of the day: quotidian
Asked students for book titles for their second quarter reading. We de-briefed "The Wife of Bath's Tale" (in other words, we broadly analyzed it using the seven questions for reading a Canterbury Tale). I also distributed the critical analysis assignment. In the library on Monday, 11-21, I will explain exactly what you need to do. The completed assignment is due on Tuesday,11-29-2011.
*Do not forget that there is always English homework! This week-end, you ask? Yes...be sure to organize your thoughts for the essay test on Tuesday, 11-22. Continue to become scholars of your research paper books and, of course, begin your second quarter books.
Enjoy your week-end, everyone!
