Period 4  Students worked in groups today, practicing critical reading of a poem from their anthologies

Period 1  Completed the poem "Auto Wreck"; literature anthologies distributed and poems assigned to students/on Monday, will work in groups comparing notes on their critical readings

Today, there was a word of the day quiz; also, began discussion of epic poetry (definitions, conventions, and Joseph Campbell's 5 steps of the "hero's journey")
