Period 1

To library today to check out books for independent reading; keep in mind that the due date for the projects is 10-25-2010.
Be sure to study for the quiz on poetry terms for Monday, 9-20-2010.

Period 4

Read Julia Alvarez's poem on language and went over a list of uncommon vocabulary for snow and ice; worked with our "word pool".
For Tuesday, September 21, write a poem of at least 14 lines using such figurative language as alliteration, assonance, hyperbole, simile, metaphor, etc.
Study poetry terms for quiz tomorrow, 9-17-2010.

Grade 12 CP
Periods 3 & 6

WORD OF THE DAY:  erudite (quiz on these words next Thursday, 9-23-2010)
Began reading "The Seafarer"
Don't forget the kennings homework due tomorrow; also, Period 6 students must study for their quiz tomorrow on Anglo-Saxon history and literary terms
