English 12 Periods 3 & 7

On Monday, 10-3-2011, students handed in the 1st drafts of their college essays.  I am currently grading both these and the essays on Anglo-Saxon poetry.

As promised, below are the definitions for this cycle of words so far.

engender:  (v) to cause/salubrious:  (adj) favorable to health and well-being/morass:  (n) a patch of low, soft, wet ground; a confusing situation in which one is entrapped/noisome:  (adj) offensive or disgusting; foul-smelling; harmful/kindle:  (v) to start a fire/nuance:  (n) something subtle; a fine shade of meaning/bibulous:  (adj) fond of or inclined to drink/belabor:  (v) to work on excessively
