Grade 10
Finished common task for second quarter (response to poetry).  Today, read from Many Stones by Carolyn Coman.  Reviewed vocabulary for quiz on Friday, 2-3-12.  Informed students of outside reading project for 3rd quarter.  Tomorrow, students will be able to finish up their writing from Friday and/or revise their final drafts.
Homework:  Review and study for vocab quiz on Friday; keep reading your outside reading books.

Period 1
Grade 10
Began common task today (response to poetry).  Will continue tomorrow and, if necessary, on Wednesday too.

Period 7
Grade 12
Words of the day from Thursday 1-26 to Monday 1-30:  coalesce, repudiate, and discourse.
Finished up the soliloquy presentations today.  Asked students to select a book title for their third quarter outside reading.  Returned word quizzes and sonnets.  Discussed Act I scenes 3, 4, 5 of Hamlet.

No period 3 on D-days.
