homework due Wednesday, 9-15-10>define 10 new vocabulary words from grave to supple and write two meaningful sentences for each word; also, re-type corrected interviews and hand in with the rough draft on Wednesday, 9-15-10.

Distributed outside reading assignment (creating a theme-tracking booklet)/due Monday, 10-18)
Homework due Monday, 9-13>read pages 4-10 in literature anthologies and take notes (notebooks will be checked!)
Also, get those books covered!  (Don't you just hate when people use the word "get"?  So stylistically poor!)

Period 6
WORD OF THE DAY:  strident
Brief lecture expanding on the historical information presented in the anthology/students will be responsible for information as there will be a quiz on Thursday, 9-16-10.

Shared interviews with the class; despite the oppressive heat, the kids were real troopers and willingly presented their essays!  Nice job!
